Messy situation... help?

We dated for about a month and the whole time ppl thot i was too good for him. Hes of a different race than me and his parents were beyond peeved that he was dating a white girl. We tried to make it work, but when my parents got upset he told me he didnt think it was worth it anymore and dumped me. He later,while we talked bout it (ik weird... but i wanted answers) he told me that even tho he said it all the time, hed never loved me. We said goodnight and i cried for a while. Three days later he wanted me back. I basically told him to f off, but we agreed to b friends. We hav to find a way to b civil bc ill see him evryday when school starts. We talk sometimes, but just small talk. Any ideas to cleaning up?
